Easy makeup tips for a fresh look

Fresh makeup isn't about owning more — it's about placing less, better. These five techniques are what I teach in every Copperleaf lesson, and they work with the bag you already have.

Match in daylight, not the aisle

Store lighting lies. Swipe three candidate shades along your jaw, walk to a window, and pick the one that disappears. That's your shade — buy the undertone, not the brand.

Conceal less than you think

Dot only where shadow lives — inner corners, beside the nose — then press with a warm finger instead of swiping. Most faces need a third of what they apply.

Cream before powder, always

Blush and bronzer in cream formulas melt into skin; powder sits on it. If you only change one thing, change this — it's the difference between dewy and dusty.

Brows frame everything

Brush brows up, fill only the sparse spots with hair-like strokes, and set. Five minutes on brows does more than twenty on eyeshadow.

Blot, don't layer

Midday shine? Press blotting paper or a tissue on the T-zone instead of adding powder. Your morning work stays intact until evening.
